I just wanted to post a question regarding the purpose of the brake valve assembly. My understanding is that in the case of a brake fluid pressure loss, the plunger in the switch body will move sideways and actuate the warning switch/light.
But does it also close the affected circuit in order to avoid brake fluid loss?
Thanks in advance for your input.

Milan, As far as I know, the valve is only an indicator that something is wrong by turning on the dash light. The purpose of the duel system is to prevent all the brakes from failing when the front or the rear brakes fail. You still have one or the other in working condition. If you have a leak in one or the other, yes you will loose fluid in that section. It does isolate the front brakes from the rear as two separate systems. Here's a drawing how the valve works. The right drawing indicates that all is in order, the left one indicates that there's a pressure drop on one side and the light switch has been activated. Hope this helps. PJ

2X on that description, the problem I have with the design is that they joined the two independent circuits by adding the valve that’s only purpose is to turn on the dash light. I don’t think you would have any way of knowing if the O-rings in the valve have deteriorated but if they have and you loose one brake circuit you will loose pressure from the remaining circuit as the fluid pushes past the plunger in the valve into the bad circuit. Not a reassuring picture.
I took mine out and replaced it with two separate unions (a 2 way and a 3 way) so the circuits are truly separate.
Thanks for the info. I've already ordered a 4 way union - 1 opening for the front circuit inlet, 2 openings for right/left front brakes and 1 opening for the hydraulic pressure switch. The rear circuit will be fed directly from the master cylinder. The warning light on the dashboard could be used for some other purpose.
