Guys,
I am restoring an MGA and it is in for paint. I really love this color blue I saw on this youtube video.

I found these pics on flicker that look like the youtube video. Anyone have any paint codes or point me in the right direction. Any help would be appreciated.

That's Mineral Blue
Originally offered on 1500 coupes only.
Here is a link to the paint codes..

Look at Mercedes Marine Blue as match for Mineral blue. Though the picture you ask about seems brighter than Mineral/Marine Blue.
I had a TR6 in that color. Looks a lot like Triumph Royal Blue.

The car near the barn, in the driveway, and next to the water was a restoration project that my father and I did. We still have the car, and I actually drove away from my wedding in it a year ago. The color is not an MGA color. My dad used the same color of his first Schwinn bicycle. It is an amazing color, and changes drastically with the light. I will do a little research and see if I cannot come up with a paint code. I am new to the forum, so hopefully this message gets where it's supposed to go. Thanks!
I've seen that Youtube video before and love that color as well.

That is a great story about you and your dad. Thank you for your response. I love the color and would really appreciate it if you could try to track it down for me. Thanks for the great post.

Troy
Troy, click onto my contact page to see my MGA Honda. I think it's the colour you want. It's a Rover/Jaguar colour called Midnight Blue.
While we are on the subject of Blue... Anyone know this car's color?
It was on the cover of the Victoria British Catalog last year.
The other color I am seriously considering is some type if silver...
Forget the catalog covers. They are known to change the color of the car by photoshop, so the color as printed may never exist on a real car.
...if you want a genuine MG color go with Blue Royal a one year only 1970 color....we had it on our new 1970 MGB...just like that color on the MGA you showed
Definitely Royal Blue. Done ! !
But, in the mean time . . . what kind of car is that silver one in the pic? Has sort of a modernized AC Ace look up front with a little Pininfarina along the sides. Looks neat.
Hi All,
Thanks for all the input - I am specifically looking for the paint codes. There are different codes for different royal blue's. I have attached a website that calls out some paint codes - which may be helpful to someone looking at blues. I really like the Lexus blue. The picture for the ford royal blue is hard to tell.

Thanks for all the input. If someone has an exact paint code that would help a lot.

Hi Tom
I cant recall where I found that picture... I liked the color and the lines of the car so I did a screen grab and stuck it in my "someday my A may look like this" folder....
The car is a 1952 Tojeiro MG Barchetta Sports Racer.

Thanks !
Man, it looked just beautiful right up until the pic of that huge dufus driving it up onto the RM Auction block, then suddenly . . . . it looked like a silly 2/3 scale bumper car.
I mean WTF, they're selling million dollar cars designed for/driven by tiny Italians from five decades ago, can't they find a "size appropriate" driver ? ! ? ! ? ! ?
Details, it's ALL in the details.

If your dad's first Schwinn was a Stingray the only color to have was "Sky Blue." But the pictured MGA ain't sky blue. However this corvette almost is:
Ahhhhh CRAP ! ! ! ! The white banana seat ? ! ? ! ? !
What a fine ride that Schwinn was, and that seat. SO different, comfortable, fun. I remember it all. I had a slick on mine . . .
Thank you, I thought that I'd lost that memory for good.
