TD never came with wire wheels, so you will have to use parts from other models. Sorry, I only have TC parts but if you want to try adapting them to your current setup then feel free to contact off-list.

You can use an A rearend. You should move the spring perches about a 1/2 inch. The gear ratio will be quite lower and the drive shaft will have to be shortened.

Thanks again and I will gladly consider the alternative you have suggested if I cannot find one from a wire wheel TF. Is there anyone out there that has one as a spare or for sale?

You might try the TD/TF forums at MG Enthusiasts. Not many of them on this site.
