MGB: Reclining Seat doesn't work

My passenger seat doesn’t recline, driver side is fine. I know the previous owner installed new seat covers before I bought the car. The lever seems to move freely. Any suggestions where to start trouble shooting? Any common problems here?

Can somebody tell me what is the upper chrome finished lever on the seat for? The lower on seems to be used to adjust the seat back [to access the battery for example]. The upper chrome lever on my seat is 'stuck'.

The lower lever should have a round ball and it is to tilt the seat top forward.
The upper lever, chromed, is to allow adjustment of the upper seat angle.

The PO should've taken care of that abberation. You have rustupidness going on there which is best dealt with on a bare frame.

Andy - I knew this had been discussed before and finally found the link. I busted mine loose, but had to open up a little hole in the back to probe and to lube.
