Kathys LE presently has a CEI distributor installed with all of the excess wires and 'big bucks' amplifier, and 45DM4 distributor. I would like to install a Pertronics set-up in the car but understand that the 45DM4 dizzy is not the best to make the conversion on. I am going to an MG graveyard sale next weekend and will be looking for a distributor to rebuild witht he Pertronics. But, which of the many distributors is the best to get and install in a 1980 stock MGB engine? Thanks folks,Jim

No ifs and or buts. Jeff Schlemmer is the person to go to on this subject.

Failing that, I like the 67 spec 25D

Jeff has chimed in before saying that the CEI is very reliable, and to leave it be, no need for a Pertronix, and that the module inside the box is the same as a dime-a-dozen GM one from the 80's, and easily replacable.

Well heck, if the CEI is that reliable then its gonna stay right where it is...I'll spend the money on something else........a new windshield perhaps (oh joy).
