I have a coolant leak at the head right above the engine number plate. It has been wet there for awhile but this weekend got worse. No overheating, no exchange of oil/antifreeze. If I retorque the head do i do it one bolt at a time or do i loosen them all, in sequence and re tighten that way? If this is the case will the head be lose engough to allow oil and antifreeze to mix? Long story short, what is the proper procedure for a head re-torque? thanks all. B.

This a common area for head gasket failure on later cars. You can try to re-torque the head, but it probably will still leak. To do this you back off one nut at a time 1/2 turn, starting in the middle of the head, and re-torque it to 50 lbs. Do this, in a circular fashion to the rest of the nuts and cross your fingers. No oil should seep into the cylinders or water into the oiling system, since you are doing one nut at a time and maintaining tension on the head gasket. RAY
