One of my cooling fans on my 80 MGB V8 has/had a screeming Banshee stuck inside. I dismantled it and found no bearing inside, well roller or ball bearing to be correct, it looks like only sleeve bearing on either end. I cleaned and applied Moly to the sleeves and mantled it. Seems the Banshee has left. Anyone have any experience with these fans. Will the Banshee come back? Should I order a new one in the meantime? Is there a better product on the market? Something with real bearings. I prefer double shield, double sided, seal bearings for long life. Any idea?
Thanks in advance.

Well, until it goes bad, I wouldn't worry about it. When it does, I'd take it to someplace that rebuilds electric motors and/or generators. Chances are it'll have slop in it by then. They'll know what to do. Even if they resleeve it to original, and it's only good for another 25 years, that should do, right?

It'll probably come back. I took both of mine in to a shop that rebuilds electric motors (like Baxter suggested above) and walked out for about $25 for both! Turns out the bushings are the same used in a Maytag (or is it Whirlpool?) dryer!

It's worth it!

for the future, when you take apart again drill a tiny hole through the bearing from the outside, about a 64th drill should do it and also the the shaft bearing-clean out debris good....then a drop or two of machine oil in each hole and plug with a dab of silicone or a thing strip of duct tape and the motor will keep for a long while....this also works with heater motors.
happy trails.
