Hi all,

I've always loved the look of the Sebring GTs and now I think it's time to make the leap with my '73 GT. With the fuel injection and overdrive she drives like a dream but the bodywork needs help. The Sebring kit would get rid of the rust in the doglegs and the new front fenders would get rid of that dent in the front left.

My question is, since Moss no longer sells the kit, can anyone recommend a decent quality kit that includes the front and rear fenders? Preferable here in the US to avoid the huge shipping cost.

Thanks!
Tyler

Tyler, you may want to inquire to Tim about Huffaker fender flares as well, he was molding them last times I talked to him, and making a street version of them, maybe they are ready for sale by now. Here's a look at them, they are a bit more subtle than the Sebring flares and blend with body a bit better than the Sebring flares.

Another angle.

Those look very nice but it doesn't address the fact that I need to replace the front left fender anyway (Big dent in the front) and I have rust in the doglegs that needs to be taken care of. I've seen kits that are two fiberglass front fenders and two almost complete rear fenders. The MGOC kit looks nice but I'm sure the shipping from England would be brutal...

I'm not sure if the doglegs would be taken care of.

What tim sells is what racers refer to as a "spat" flare, meaning a fender flare that attaches to the orginal steel fender. On the race cars we use complete fiberglass fenders, you bolt the front fender on in traditional manner and the rear fender is either riveted (thats what we id on the race cars for ease of mantianence should we need to repair, or either you could mold them on. We (racers) cust most of the rear fender out when doing this. I inlude a few pictures to show you what I'm talking about. There are several companies that make entire flare fenders, mostly for SCCA racers, but you could use them on a street car, race class is exremely thin, but you could renforce them more by add additional glass to the backside of them for street use. Spridgetech make a complete MGB body, so does Prodbodies (formaly Japco glass).

Pro bodies complete fiberglass were made form the #9 car shown above. Here a couple of photo the Spridget tech body to give you something alittle different to look at.

Wow, great options! The more I look at those Huffaker flares the more I like them. I guess I could repair the fenders in the traditional way and add the flares at the same time. Probably not much more work than a full kit would have been.

Thanks!

Brit-Tek was selling the Sebring kit but I don't know if they do anymore or not.

Tim (morSpeedperformance.com) listed above in Gerry post makes and sells both the Sebring and Huffaker flares, he manufactures them for everybody. He also makes the Windblockers Moss sells. The Huffaker flares Tim is making molds for and selling were molded from a brand new set of Huffaker flares I owned, Tim thicken them up for street use as race glass is extremely thin. Spridgetech also offers their glass in race or street weight, I recently found out.

Here's a couple pics of the MGOC Sebring kit installed on my V8.

You do get the complete front fenders + rear quarters from the top of fender down. The front fenders are so much work to install and fit correctly that I've suggested to anyone interested in this kit either purchase the kit from Morspeed and attach the fronts to a decent set of metal fenders or if you go with the MGOC kit, cut off the flares and do the same. You'll save yourself a lot of time and grief in the end.

MGOC rears have that belt line through them. Mine are smooth.

Here's a link to how a recent customer prepped his rear fenders for installation - http://www.morspeedperformance.com/flares.cfm . I have updated photos, but haven't been had the chance to update the site. The pictures are big, so give them a few moments to load. I left them large to allow for detail.
