As a kid, my bedroom had a wallpaper map of the world on one entire wall. It had been installed by the previous owner/builder of the house. Even though it was somewhat outdated (Vietnam was French Indo) I realize now that looking at it for 10+ years really made me knowledgable how the world is.

Nowadays ask a kid to point out Finland or The Bearing Sea, etc...
