I stuck one of Jeff's distributors in a B a few weeks ago after having to absolutely destroy the original trying to get it out of its hole. It was THOROUGHLY stuck and it took several hours of hard work with an 18" pair of channel locks to get it to budge.

But I digress...

I installed the dist and worked on through the tune to the point of deciding that the HS4s were beyond hope. So I sent my friend on his way with the tune incomplete but with the instructions to bring me a rebuild-able set of carbs out of his stash. To make a long story shorter I finished the carbs and the tune today and took the old girl out for a spin.

What is terrific improvement! I can't say that it was because of my good looks or superior carb cognisance but I WILL lay all of the credit to Jeff's great workmanship and wizardry.

My friend hasn't come to pick the car up yet but I can't wait to see the grin on his face after his first test drive.

He isn't coming over until tomorrow. I think that I will swap engines tonight. LOL

I can't take credit for your fine carb craftsmanship and tuning prowess - its about the whole package not just one small part jammed in a hole in the side of the block! :-)

If I'm not mistaken, you still have a few hours of windshield time before your buddy comes back for his car...

We missed you at Mint Hill today.. Sis-boom is good but you have to leave the hills and come down and visit the flat-landers on occasion.
I'm going to get one of my new babies tomorrow, the one with OD, The other will be available to the masses soon..

Somehow I just had a mental picture of Twig doing a scene from the movie Ferris Beuller's day off when he has the Jag up on jack stands turning the odometer back on the car. LOL!!

Darn Gary~! You did go get those things after all! And you thought the green car was a tad rusty!

I'll bet the Mrs. was just happy as heck about that! LOL

I missed it too.

James said he would buy lunch and tell me old war stories if I showed up but Elliott was coming home this week end. When he showed up last night he had a whole list of visits he wanted to make so I ended up missing the show for no good reason and spent the day being intimate with a green MG and a red XKE.

They are not a tad rusty at all.. They are all rusty. rust to the bones, but one has od and they both have a lot of good parts and shinny (sp) trim and good glass..

My wife stand beside me on all my stupid decisions but I not sure why. It must be looks because it's not money or the other..

Shut up Jim! A pox on you! It would probably kill all three dogs and two of the cats before jumping the rhodos and landing on the back deck! LOL Jack
