Is that 'the Bomber' on page 29 of the November issue of Classic Motorsports magazine. Its a stripped chrome bumper roadster in primer that looks as though the body work is finished. The caption says its parked next to a body shop in Anacortes, Washington. But by the look of the tarp/car cover that's been blown off for some time, nobody cares about it!

He has been looking for it as he has been terribly treated by a no good shop. It may be his. It would be great if his turned up in a manner like that.
Perhaps someone in the Anacortes area could swing by and check out the car. At least get a VIN and let Skye know.
Oh, skye wouldn't do something like that but the shyster 'restoration' guys who disappeared with his car would! Those of us who have been around the BBS for a few years remember his MGB of many colors nicknamed 'the Bomber' before it disappeared.
it would be a great thing if it was Skye's bomber it is sad and angering what he has gone through with that car and the people....let all hope that it is his
I "reported this message" so Skye will see it more quickly (I hope)!
This will be interesting!
I sent a PM to one of our members who lives up that way. Maybe he'd be willing to take a look.

I've got a Real good friend who lives in Anacortes. If you need someone to go look at it, I could have him go by with the story that his MG buddy in Texas is on his way up. He's not a sports car guy (one of my close Sailing friends, also musician in a favorite old band) but he can see what the story is.
Let me know if I can help.
Have fun
It won't have a VIN on it if it's mine, I totally stripped it before sending it to the body shop, except for the front & rear suspension.
If someone can scan the Classic Motorsports page in question I should be able to tell.
And yeah, the bodywork guy, after jerking me around for 3 years over the work, disappeared with my tub by the time I got back from New Zealand. Joe Aros - never ever do business with him.
The last time I saw it, it had been blasted and the engine bay was POR-15ed. As you can see the tub was really rotten, I think I'd be better off re-shelling, I'm going to go to Tacoma and pick up the engine & trans as soon as I have somewhere to store them up here.... before they disappear too...

Skye
skye....I don't have a way to scan it but the shell in the photo appears complete & is on its wheels...totally primed, doors, fenders, trunk lid mounted....rostyle wheels (I can't remember what you had)...
....you should post the photo of the Bomber with its hardtop on it so folks can see what you started with - you know, the one with the off-color trunk lid.
The bomber I remember was tartan red and had painted wire wheels.
My son-in-law lives in Anacortes. Let me know if we can be of some assistance.
Lol yup that's the one..... kind of like that "special edition" GTI that had different colour body panels all over.
Demonstration of the fact that not a single panel was rust free on the Bomber :D
It can't be the bomber in CM, it's got side marker lights. Bummer, I still wish it could be resurrected.
Well, maybe skye can 'acquire' that bodyshell as a platform for the Bomber - he still has his VIN.
Yup, that's the plan (find a shell), as soon as I get my contracting business off the ground and find a place to do the resto. Not an option living downtown Vancouver in a heritage building with no parking, but I got a line on some space in south Van through a friend. It will come together one of these days, I've still got all the important bits off the Bomber in storage.
Skye,
Did you at one point a ong time ago have a journal going on all that you had done to the car? I remember reading one on a car that looked similiar to this one and surely there are not too many with such a colorful body.
Carolyn - not sure about Skye but I had one going on Bonnie the 72B that is now in Chris' yard..

Yes, click on "Journals" at the top of the page and look for my name.
