Just bought a Snug Top (thanks Dan). how does the rear part of the top fasten to the car? It doesn't seem to slide on to the clips like a factory. Are there supposed to be turnbuckles for the brackets just aft of the door?

Uses "J:" hooks with wing nuts that go into the small holes on the tonneau rail bracket just aft of the doors.

Hi George,
The very rear of the top just rests on the body . You'll see the two "humps" that are in the fiberglass top that will rest over the factory, chrome, soft top clips.
Just behind the doors, there is the section that connects the top. the top should have a "L" bracket on either side. You just get a "J-Hook" and hook into the side hole of the bracket in your car, and thread the top of the "J-Hook" into the "L" bracket of the hard top. Then tighten down the door until the seal compresses tightly to the body.
I had some 1/4-20 threaded rod laying around, so I just heated it up and bent a "J" into it, then put a washer and nut on it to tighten it down. I had a couple of rubber (red) end caps that I put over the upright end of the rod so I wouldn't scratch myself.
You can sort of see it in this picture I had on file of my seat belt holder I made... you should be able to get the gist of it from this picture.

The J bolts are the way to go but in the mean time you can tie off the top to the side bracket with cord, I have been doing that for awhile with no problems including speeds to 85mph.

Actually there are L shaped brackets that fit into the part Wasper has his J hooks hooked into. My Snugtop came with them but I don't have the brackets on the car that they fit into. I have a pair of them but just haven't put them on the car.
Here is how I made my J hooks work without the brackets that Wasper has.

Thanks to all. Cut a pair of eye bolts to fit like Wasper-works like a champ.
