Long story short.

Picture this...

CB Midget sitting beside the road

Orange, well sort of, it had lots of reasonably well done yellow and white flames sweeping back to beyond the front of the doors.

Rear end off the ground and the wheel/tires sitting there in the dirt.

The lack of wheels exposed the narrowed Ford rear axle with disc brakes.

No top, the weather bug has moved in and brought along his brother the tin worm.

Transmission tunnel has been cut away somewhat and replaced with some pop-riveted aluminum that covers some sort of manual gear box but there has been no provision made for a gear lever to come through.

Lifted hood and found some weird in-line four purportedly to be of Toyota make. Not likely to run as it is obvious that the poor soul has been sitting out in the weather for several moons, perhaps twenty.

I didn't really want to buy the thing, but I asked the price just to be nice to the guy.

"I got $1500 in the motor itself" and "I recon I'll need a thousand bucks out of it" was all I heard.

My truck was still warm and cozy inside and the trip on down the mountain was nice.

As long as you don't start touching things and catch something.

If you do you might come home to a three wood or a four iron. LOL

Wonder how many restorable examples die from better ideas.
