Please!! Anybody.

I've just seen a BGT for sale with leather interior for little more than new leather would cost. It's probably a parts car but loads of spares with it. It's about a 600 mile round trip with a trailer.

I haven't got room for it, haven't got room for the parts or to strip the car but I want to go for it.

For mercy's sake tell me I can't :D

Well if you did go and get it people would start to think you were one of those obsessive MG fanatics, poor souls.

No,its an affliction and you have to suffer like the rest of us!:)

Its a hard one Owen,I've had an eye on a 71 GT not more than 500yds from my house but same as you I have no space and my patio already looks like a scrap yard.If you do get it part it out ASAP,might be worth building a shed in your back garden just for the spares.I try and think of our neigbors as much as poss, they do put up with alot from me,noise etc,but to look out on another parts car might put them over the edge.

Don't do it.
Just accept the feeling that in a while you''ll need just those parts that came with this car.
Just live with the feeling that a friend of yours comes by sooner or later needing exactly that part that ..........

You're no bloody help, Les :D

I've got first refusal on a 70 Midget just down the street, but don't know when or if it will come good. With that in the back of my mind I'm torn.

One good? thing. I mentioned it to she who must be obeyed when she got up this morning and she actually suggested an idea for some space. She can't have been fully awake.

Just go get the thing and on the drive home pester your friends for a place to stash the little jewel. Isn't that what cell phones are for?

You already have an MGB GT. Get something different!

Flipping heck. 80% say I should get it.

Discussions have been going on all day here and subject to satisfactory answers from the seller It looks like it might be on. What the heck am I doing???

Les. It's only £500 but with trailer hire and costs of collection it will turn out nearer £700.

Steve, I only want it for the leather interior. If it's not too bad rot wise I will probably get it welded up and sell it on. Hopefully I should show a profit but if I only get my money back I've got a leather interior for nothing but some time.

She said yes? What IS the question? Why are you waisting time talking to us? Why don't you already have it in the place she suggested? The clock is ticking!!!!

£700 and a lot of work for a used leather interior? I think you can do better. If you want a parts car then go for it, but if you can save money by ordering a brand new leather kit then I'd go that route.

I think you already have your mind made up and you are now just bragging and rubbing it in to make all the rest of us jealous.

Go fo it.

I asked about price because PJM are still doing leather seat covers for £175 so with foams and rear seat your only looking at £300 for new leather. That put your parts GT out the ballpark area.

700 plus if lucky 200 for MOT pass, plus time, mess outside house,ad costs, and really you should be on the TD for the summer:).

I don't think its worth it.

You can't......................possibly do the trip in one hit......suggest at least a couple of comfort stops

Mar 10, 2010 06:03:30

Why not make the seller an offer for the seats only?

Mar 10, 2010 09:05:54

He doesn't want to break it up, Stan.

Having seen some pictures of it, I'll be leaving it and looking elsewhere to sort my seats out.
