I took apart the switch on my 78 today, to fix the horn. Sure enough, one of the wires came off inside the switch, and the horn works fine now. What a set-up inside there! Adding the horn to the turn signals, and the high beam switch/flash might be one too many items. I have one problem though, during re-assembly, the strap that secures the whole unit to the steering column snapped. Is there another way to secure this unit, or do I need a new one? Hope not, since I just got this one working.
Thanks

I haven't seen one in a long time and can't remember what it looks like. Is there a chance you could drill it and close the gap with a small piece of steel of sheet metal. Maybe make a band that goes from one bolt hole to the other and holds the broken piece together and tight. Don't really know, just brainsorming at this point.
