I don't need it, I don't need it! I have to turn a corner and look at it every day. No one can give me a name for the owner. Body is intact though paint a bit faded. No obvious rust. Been sitting same spot a looong time. Better than a year. Dead end city street. Maybe 90K on speedo. Can't get down low enough to see if it has O/D. I'm sure it needs rescued and temptation is manifesting itself like new car fever!

As I mentioned before, I know of a orange GT in Napa that is definitely not for sale...it had been owned by the guy's dad. Guy's a contractor and the car would be near a contractor's yard.
Does this one show collision damage or recent repair? Right after I changed out the hydraulics he got hit in Napa.
So do you need us to talk out of buying? I think it is a beautiful B. The color is great. Seems like it is in sound condition. Sorry, I say take it home with you!

No damage I can spot Mac. Pretty straight all around. The other side is just as faded as the visible side. Looks like it would buff out pretty good. No construction business' around that I could tell.
Yeah, Jim, this is the wrong place to come to find someone to tell you not to buy it!
Maybe what you could do is give the address of the car and one of us other MG crazies on this forum will go buy it so you don't have to! :D
Have a roll back service go get it and let it sit in YOUR yard for six months.
If someone complains or comes knocking at your door plead ignorance and tell them that it "just appeared" there and that you have been trying for six months to find out where it came from. If no one comes around though you could get with DMV and tell them that it just appeared and that you would like to apply for a title.
Napa isn't the place to expect a car to just sit and rust away, but it would be a shame of the thing languished long enough to turn into uselessness.
You can't have a friend of a friend at DMV or on a police force run a check on their computer? That should take only about five minutes to turn up the owner.
I am not an advocate of lying or larceny, but desperate times call for desperate measures !
Jack
i have no pictures , but there is a red MGB rubber bumper top up very faded by the sun apparently intacked up on jack stands .. has sat behind the fence in auto hobby Fort Campbell for 9 years at least..
a soldiers , but so long so long .. the storage fee is more than the car is worth..
someones dreams ,, the stuff that dreams are made of fading in the sun
Jim,
It's not a question of whether you NEED the car. None of us really NEED any of these cars........but we sure do WANT them. As stated, we're not the ones to talk you out of this or any car........that's what significant others are for.
I say we have a vote as to whether Jim should investigate this car further and save it from a horrible demise.
I vote..........YES!
im going through the same thing right now, there is a 67 olds cutlass sitting in an empty lot near my house that i have been told hasnt moved in over ten years. the vin is in the door jam so i cant get the number without a little B&E.

so tempting to call the flatbed truck.
It's sitting next to a dumpster, so obviously they're just waiting for the garbage man to pick it up:D
