My prayers and best wishes to all the storm victims. The wind and flooding look horrendous on the national news. Our occassional earthquake and falling bridge parts can't compare. Keep those hatches battened!

I'll bet my old Navy Buddy in Norfolk, VA was battened down and riding it out today. He has lived on or near the East Coast all his life, so he's used to it.
Still a very tough situation.
It's been pretty bad even as far inland as we are in the Richmond area. My meeting in Newport News this morning was cancelled.
It's been raining here for at least two days with more to come; a classic nor'easter. The problem is that most of coastal Delaware is very close to sea level. Many beach towns (Dewey, Bethany, etc) are flooded, many schools are closed, some roads are closed and there is widespread beach erosion. High tides and winds coming from the ocean only compound the problem. My wife and I are still going to Chincoteague VA this afternoon for the weekend; hopefully the causeway will be open and the storm will start moving out by tomorrow.
The only time I was in Chincoteague was in 1958. It was a quaint little place then, don't know about now.
My buddy in Norfolk said there is normal flooding of low lying areas but they have close a couple of tunnels for fear they might flood too.
I am in Norfolk, and just now got power back on, this was the worse storm since hurricane Isabelle, aaand as a matter of fact the flooding was worse than that hurricane. I had a tree fall in my front yard and barely miss my B by three feet.
