the stalk on the right side of the steering column on my 1971 MGB has been falling out of its socket, so this morning I glued it back in with a dab of silcon. I dont have a washer motor so did not bother with the wire running to the push switch at the end of the stalk, it was loose in the stalk, may have been attached at some point
Went for a ride and about 15 minutes into the ride, the tach went to zero, and then was intermitent. A few minutes later I lost the fuel guage, oil pressure guage, temperature guage, brake lights, turn signals, reverse lights and radio. The came back momentarilly once or twice, but now the circuit is dead.
OD still works when you flip the stalk towrds you, the horn work, heater fan, cig lighter, hazards, lights all work.
All I can think of is maybe there is short in the washer switch now. Fuse 2 is good.

Wow. The Prince is mad at you!
Find a replacement for the R side. Try used parts from a salvage - there are several listed in "directory." Clean all the contacts & joints. Take a multimeter and go through the circuits. I know - no fun at all.
Sometimes the contacts in the fuse box get loose.
Do you have a wiring diagram? Try this: http://www.advanceautowire.com/mgb.pdf
40 year old car needs some TLC. Let us know how it works out.
Fixed it today = fautly fuse, looked good, but did not test - changed fuse and all is good1
Good to hear it was something easy. What caused the fuse to blow?
I've been having this exact same problem...right down to the stalk falling out. I've been blowing the dash fuse on a semi-regular basis. I thought I had found the short but it is still happening. Do you think there is/was a short in the steering column due to the stalk falling out in your case that caused the fuse to blow?
The green black wire inside the stalk was the culprit, but in my case I do not have a washer motor at all, and I think the wire had been attached inside the stalk somehow to the contact made when you depress the wash button at the end of the stalk. - i snipped it back, as I didn't need it, and a dab of crazy glue to keep the stalk in. So far so good. Apparently it was making constant contact before I cut it back and evetually the fuse blew.
