Call myself trying to fix the seatbelt that locked on with just a baby's breath now my SB is a opened party popper....:eyepop: Oh well...

I did the same thing about a year ago. :spinning:
Glad I read this. I was going to open mine up this winter.
hey i did the same thing to a seat belt on my truck
i just straightened it back out and re coiled it it works better now than ever
Reminds me of a camera I decided to "fix" once......
did it come flying out of there like those fake "peanut brittle" snake cans?
That's too funny, mainly because I can see myself doing exactly that, and then yelling, "nothing, honey!!" when my wife asked if I screamed.
I believe all tinkerers have done that. I got it back together but decided my butt was more inportant than a I DID IT
Oops, you let the boingggggggggg loose.
I just went down this road about 6 weeks ago. The passenger seat (occupied mostly by my wife) belt wasn't working properly, and after all else failed, I let the genie out of the bottle. Wow! I did get it back in, but the retractor still didn't work. What a great way to kill an hour!
It's like a combination of putting toothpaste back into the tube and giving a cat a bath.

I got sick of fighting with my retractable belts and took them out and installed some Simpson 3 inch wide racing lap belts.

These things are a good argument for Kangol belts.
Kinda like my trusty old Stanley 16' tape measures. I've had a few of those sproing on me while trying to "fix" them over the years.

You do realise that is a Kangol belt he took apart? :)
Reminds me of in my youth repairing the old briggs and stratton recoils on lawn mowers. The pull ones and my favorites were the ones one would wind with a lever, then push it down and it would engauge and turn the crank over to start. I guess showing my age but those were neet! The affluent had Toro battery starters!
I have a Honda self start...:) Not much to mow anymore but it runs:)
Sometimes new is better saftey wise
