Ive noticed the foremost fastener for the side moulding on the left wing of my 77 B has deteriorated and allowed the moulding to start separating from the car. Obviously I need to remove it to address this problem. Is there a suggested method to use to get it off in tact and not hack up the paint job? ( found nothing through Search)
- As usual, any and all suggestions appreciated, - Clint

Use a plastic spatula to pop the trim piece off. If you are going to replace the fasteners, take a piece of cardboard and cut a small hole in the center of it. Center the hole over the fastener and tape the cardboard in place with some of that blue painters tape. The cardboard is to protect the car's paint in the event that your drill slips. Drill the head off the old rivets one by one, placing the cardboard over each fastener as you go. When re-installing the fasteners with rivets, use the cardboard method once again to prevent the rivet gun from scratching the paint. Good luck with your project!
The first fastener on the wing is a bolt with a nut behind, it's up by the headlight bucket.
Clint, is this what you're looking for?
