As has mentioned before on several posts I was stationed at NAS Whiting Field near Pensacola as an Avionics Tech from 1966-1970. I was the Calibration Lab supervisor and also was in charge of the ground crew for what we called "The Super Navy Bomber". It was the Base Commander's plane. I just found another picture of it. Ya, that's me.

I've jumped out of numerous Beech 18's. Until they had a wing mod done they had a habit of losing their wings.

Maybe that wing problem is why they had you practice juming out of them.

I believe we used modified Beechcraft like this, known as Volpars, in the 70s. they had tricycle gear and turboprop powerplants, among other changes....lotsa navigation and other black box add-ons. nice aircraft.
