So, got home last night and the wife let me tear into her car, well, after I already did she acknowledged that we (my 4 yo son). Found the source of the loud clunk and pulling hard left or right. Didn't noticed it to much on the initial drive but after spraying the whole front end and underside down with degreaseretc.... I saw remnants of a frame bushing. No big deal right. Well after everything dried up and drove it back out of the garage and heard a even larger loud clunk when breaking I wondered WTF? Put it up on jackstands, pulled tires and bam, saw it right away. All four upper subframe bushings where gone, apparently blown out with hosing down and some little driving. Good news, subframe bolts are not worn, thankfully.
Spent about an hour degreasing this thing up, gonna just hit it with some primer and rustoleum for now, untill I get time to sand blast it and put either DP of have it powdercoated.

Table of parts, very dirty, but thankfully the Kinpins feel tight, shocks have good resistance and don't think any of that needs work. Will see after I get it all apart and cleaned up.

Bunch of boxes of goodies.

Subframe bushings, Prothane

Rack seams very tight, but will need end boots, on oreder, should be here tomorrow.

Found this on the inner wheel bearings, thought they felt good on the car, but screw it, new bearings, races and seals are being ordered tomorrow too.

Dads other helper,

suspension progress, well kinda

Wow, I've never seen bushings blow out by water pressure! I'd say it's a good thing you're doing this job sooner rather than later. You will undoubtedly see an enormous improvement in handling and ride, not to mention clunk reduction!

Thats why it didn't even dawn on me to think about them either, I didn't even have it up on jackstand, just had the floor jack lifting the car up via the subframe, so there was no unsprung weight either. Oh well, like I've send on previous post, I am a newbie to these cars.
