MGB: Swine Flu or H1N1

In our part of the world, the swine flu pandemic is front and centre in all the news. There are line ups for immunization, the opposition is howling about shortages of vaccine. We're hearing all kinds of recommendations to avoid the flu, including wearing a mask. Here's a sensible recommendation for all us cheap guys if the need for a mask arises. Note that it is compatible with glasses.

Hey Phil, I would have mistaken you for a super-hero in that mask. Isn't there supposed to be some coloration of some kind? A grown streak or something?

They must be new, never worn..
Their is finally some good reason to old.. If you are over 64 they do not give you a H1N1 shot as you already have immunity.
At least that is what my Dr. told me..

I think I had it in 1948 or '49. I remember it and it wasn't real bad that time around and I'm not concerned about it this time.

No offence, but Your Doctor is an idiot.

Your age group is one of the high risk groups up here. That and young children.. But I still think it is a money grab to get more funding money.

And Phil.. My Wife just got back from a business trip today from three days in your beautiful City. She didn't bring me one of those high tech masks. :)

Paul, Fredericton is nice but your part of the world is too. I used to spend a lot of time around Lake Simcoe and the Barrie area. Still have very good friends next door to you in Innisfil Beach

Paul, actually they've been saying all along that those in mid sixties and up are not likely to get the H1N1 virus because of
being exposed back in the 50's or around there.

It's young children that are most succeptible and people of all ages who have chronic conditions such as allergies, athsma, diabetes etc.
as their immune system is already weakened.

This H1N1 is just WHO trying to justify their existence and the media hyping up a story. There is no evidence that this H1N1 strain is worse than the normal season flu strains. They tells us about deaths from the H1N1 but rarely do they say how many people normally die of the flu in a year; they are only telling us unce side of the story; the side that scares people.

Yeah, when was the last time they said anything about the gas prices? Maybe the oil companies are behind all the hype????

Here's another clever solution...

I am down with the H1N1 flu AND shingles at the same time. It's pretty miserable. And, I can't get out to drive the MGB. But, the mail just came including the newest edition of North American Classic MG magazine so I hope to live until I finish reading it at least.

Just got my H1N1 shot this morning. Apparently I'm "mission critical" whatever the hell that's supposed to mean.

My arm is just now starting to hurt a little. Grounded for 36 hours :(
