Sometimes when I first crank the engine, the tach does not work. After a minuter or so it starts and works fine. Any thoughts?

Does it work if you tap the glass?

Go to this Web site, and download the MGB file: http://www.advanceautowire.com/schematics.htm
Go to page 24 for your model year, print it as large as you can, and then check all the tach. connections.
