has anyone tried buying 551 lenses from holden in england. i did and so far no package and it;s been over three weeks. i sent three e mails asking what;s going on and they don,t answer but they answer right away when making purchase. anyone have good or bad exp. with them. thanks
Sounds like an old time English company that takes their time getting stuff out the door. I deal with Rimmer Brothers for TR parts and I typically receive orders from them in a week to ten days Their record is 4 days.....and that is halfway around the globe! They get orders from me several times a year even though they tend to be a bit pricier than their competition.
I also deal with Burlen Fuel Systems as they have a superb product line. Orders from Burlen take several weeks to arrive. I would call them an old time English firm, and believe me, I only call them when I have no alternative!

I have dealt with both firms on many occasions. I am quite surprised to hear of Rich's experiences! Last time I ordered from Burlen, I rang on Thursday AM (West Coast US time - 8 hours time difference) the package arrived at 10am the following Monday (US time) - special delivery even. As for Holden's, I find that they typically take the same amount of time to ship parts to me from the UK that Moss takes to get bits to me from Southern California - three working days or less.
Thanks to the internet, I use UK sources for bits nearly as regularly/frequently as I use US based sources and haven't yet encountered any significant issues with shipping, shipping delays or customs. (Knock wood).
ok i bought a calling card for five dollars and called holden they had my address wrong and will be sending out more lenses.now i can call shortens for weather stripping and other stuff and it wont cost me fifty bucks for twelve min like att
AT&T will ruin you. We use those pre-paid cards, I bought one for our trip to the UK in June and am still using it. 300+ minutes for $20 I think.
