I love that car. It was the first car I could remember my family having.

Tom you are so right, that is one ugly car.

Looks like a Tatra 87 (1936 - 1949) from the rear. Without the rear mounted, air-cooled V8 however. Probably easier to find parts for the Nash, on the other hand.

It looks like a bomb, unfortunately I can't buy it. With a wheel base of over 9 feet I'm not confident that it will fit in the garage but I am confident that the neighbors would not like it in the back yard.

They were very cool and came with many advanced features. The front seats folded down to meet with the rear seats so the car was great to "sleep" in on long trips or at the drive-in movie. Nash even sold a little mattress that fit perfectly.

There were other smaller Nashes of thet era too. Parts from I-6 Jeeps from the 60's-80's I believe work for the mechanicals. Best to buy one in 99% super condition though.

That was the first car my father in law bought after many years of being without a car. He absolutely loved it.

Thats what I'm thinking, I'm in no real hurry to start a project of that magnitude.

I don't know, it looks a little rough for how much he wants for it. http://cincinnati.craigslist.org/cto/822980923.html

I was in high school when my dad bought a Nash like the one shown, only in a two tone brown. The parents of the girl I dated refused to let me take her out anymore because of those fold down seats! "Lordy, Lordy, car seats that make into a bed," her mother said.

It's so cool now. I remember it as sooooo ugly when it first came out. You have to laugh at how much body overhang is needed to allow the front wheels to negotiate a turn.
