I drove Bea out to work on the Tank today. She was a perfect little lady and quite pleased at showing off her dependability while the Tank sat there with a busted pistion. Her pistons were pissing perfectly.
The Tank will be an A1M2 soon. I got everything disconnected and cleared away from the top of it and my parts car today. Tomorrow I'll get the bottom done and the turbo engine yanked out of the parts car then things will slow down a little. I want to pressure wash the engine & transmission before they go in the Tank. The throttle linkages are entirely different on the two cars, but I got the adoptions figured out today. The heating and A/C systems are different too, different sizes, types, and placements of components, but I've got that locked up too. It took a lot of fiddling around, thinking, rethinking, wiggling this, juggling that, and comparing the two cars side by side but it's all coming together in my mind now. I've got to put the parts car speedo and speedo cable in the Tank, maybe this one will be accurate. The Tank cruise control is shot and there's no way to hook up the one on the parts car. I'll install an aftermarket one later, that's after I put a few thousand miles on this turbo engine and am satisfied it will hold up another 100,000 miles or more. It may be a week or more before I get her back on the road, depends on how many driving jobs I catch.
