Steve,

Think your over their heads. NY's 23rd is a credit to the voters that rejected the extreme side of the
GOP. I reject the extreme side of the Democrat Party as well. NY 23rd got it right. NJ and Virginia
also got it right though. The best candidate should win. The long time supervisor (GOP) from my town is currently
behind 7 votes with 135 absentee votes to be counted. Hope he is the looser because he made a number
of bad choices in the past year. Rush & Palin will ruin the GOP, wake up.

Dave, I wonder how it would have turned out if Hoffman had been able to run as a republican. It appears that he would have won. His name would have been in the right place on the ballot and the third party votes would have been at least split.

I am hoping that the signal that gets sent is that the liberal Republican will not be supported. They will give up the seat rather than vote liberal. The Republicans should get on the course to fiscal conservatism and let the soical issues float with the district.

Its just a cycle, when the Dems gained power in 2006 and 2008 it showed the country to be sick of the Republicans.. people will get sick of the democrats, then it will cycle around again.. Our govt doesnt serve us anymore, we all realize this... time to vote all the bums out and have real Americans with real ideas in, and Corporate money out..

Its no longer we the people.. remember that.

The cycle did not work during the Bush off years and this was not a cycle difference. If Obama was somewhat moderate this would not have happened to the degree it did. It would have been much closer in vote count. This was a big swing and the story is about the swing of voters away from tax and spend Democrats. This will be tough to spin away and I hope energizes the Republicans to stay the course and move away from the Democrat light. Now if we can just defeat McCain in his next election in Arizona and maybe Graham in SC. That would be very good news.

Why McCain and Graham?

Nov 04, 2009 10:10:24
911 Truth

He is a maverick...

Nov 04, 2009 10:15:59
6863m

He would like to think of himself as a maverick because of his personality. However he is a dangerous legislator because he is a 70 / 30 Republican. If you look at his record his major deals are always with the extreme left and he brings them from the extreme to a little less extreme and calls that bi partisanship. Graham is a similar Republican.

Nov 04, 2009 10:20:49

are you looking to have McCain lose in the primary? is that really possible? once in, you're in for life

I'm stuck with Lieberman in Connecticut

Nov 04, 2009 10:34:28

McCain could lose in Arizona if a good candidate was put up. I would assume if the Democrats put up a strong potential candidate McCain would not get a challenge. However he could be beat by a real actual Republican.

Nov 04, 2009 10:36:07

So are you accusing McCain of being a RINO? He was the golden ticket with Caribou Barbie... .wasnt he? Mr Surge!!

You just dont like him because he called waterboarding torture.. joking..

Let's be reasonable about this... yes, to a certain extent these results are people aiming a kick at Obama's nads, but the exit polls indicated that people voted predominantly on local issues. I wouldn't get your Sandra Palin flags out yet.

Richard, the data does not support your view.

Nov 04, 2009 10:49:40

Joe, I am hoping that you go along with ABC and other Democrat pundits. I am hoping that you continue the steep turn left in the country and continue putting up legislation that is so extreme that it gets stalled in the Senate. If you believe ABC we will gain even more seats as we push conservatism and aim it at the center right country.

Just keep saying that losing Governors who represent the left and liberal fiscal policies is only a local issue and you will continue to lose.

Most of what I say is based on my learned opinion. Why would I just post someone else's opinion I can just attach those. After all this time are you saying that I might as well have read the DailyKos rather than reading what you say. Hell I thought these extreme views were yours.

He has learned opinions like Cheney.. Richard and Dick, or Dick and Richard just knew we would be greeted with chocolates and flowers since we were liberators..

An opinion is made up of different data points. I am saying that the issues were not local. They were financial and taxes. Those are directly tied to Obama. Which issue in NJ was a local issue pertinent to NJ or VA only.

NJ was a referendum on Corzine..

Nov 04, 2009 11:37:38

Corzine was a wealthy Obama they have the same philosophy, it was about Obama regardless. As i said to Joe I am hoping that you continue to believe it had nothing to do with Obama.

........"NJ was a referendum on Corzine.". uh uhhh .... it was Bush, cuz he went there 4 times to help out.................

Its all Obamas fault Richard.. .all of it.. Everything wrong today in America is based on the past 10 months.. I agree.. Lets kick Obama out of office.. America is the disaster it is today because of Obama... we get it. Thanks.

Nov 04, 2009 11:48:22
6863m

Not sure what the last post was all about. I thought it was about whether the change in NJ was about Corizine or Obamas policies. The future of America is at risk because of Obama and his policies. That is what it was about. No one said he got us here. They are saying they don't lke his fix.
