On AMC. I recorded the first one a couple of days ago and I'm watching it now.
Takes place in a village surrounded by desert and rocky barren mountains. Not quite like the original, but there are a few LBC's running about.
We'll see....
No ROVER yet. (the blob)

I dont think the new one sounds much like the old one-but I am recording it anyway. Maybe it will be good.

OK, finished the first one. Almost a thumbs up. I'm going to stick with it for awhile.
I don't know, but it was really cool with the white steering wheel. Looked Fiat-Italian looking.
And of course the Taxi was a Renault.
What car is he driving ??? the original he had a Lotus Super 7
the layout and story are not to the original...remakes alway fall on thier face.....too bad they did not use the original village in Wales....that would have been a big coup. Grade c-
Sorry but I followed the entire series and it was riviting even the see saw peopole in control.'
oh to have 1960's back
Is this the car you're talking about?
It looks more French than Italian to me.

I've got no earthly idea. I don't recognize the car or the logo. I just downloaded the photo from AMC's website for the new series. They don't identify the car.
The problem with remakes is that people who are familiar with the original and like it (understandably) want the remake to be in the same spirit and maybe even an improvement on the original.
Remakes aren't made for people familiar with the original idea. They are made by people who usually have little imagination or creativity, and are merely capitalizing on name familiarity. They are just trying to make a buck on someone else's former creativity because they usually have none of their own.
Once in a great while a remake is as good or better than the original, but it's rare.
We just watched the remake of "The Day the Earht Stood Still" last night, thus the little rant. :X

A good example of why a remake should not happen, as the only thing this had in common with the original was the name. Tghe movie was OK, but should never have been advertised as a remake of the original. Another example was The recent rehash of Battlestar Galactica - same thing good, but no resemblence to the original series or the book it all came from..
As for the AMC version of The Prisoner - THUMBS DOWN
I am watching the new one, it is complex and unusual, like the original. It would have been better if it had been shot at PortMeirion in Wales. What a neat place.
