Can I use an earlier housing without the air pump adapter on my 74 cb? Since I no longer have an air pump, I feel this would be a cleaner look.
Thanks y'all

As long as it is the same shape. There have been several different thermostat housings used through the years, some pointing in different directions. Or you could just cut and grind the airpump mount off your thermostat housing to make the same shape as the early ones
No Jerry, It won't fit. It's made to point the opposite direction, and while it looks like you can simply turn it around, it won't fit. I used a spare and cut the mount off with an angle grinder. You can see what it looks like on my website photos on the link below. Here's one pic:

You can buy a "eurospec" housing that will work and give you the look you are after. It is not has heavy duty as the original and if you are using an alloy valve couver you might have to gind or file a bit to clear the inside edge against the cover,
Thanks guys,
I was really hoping for a bolt-n-play and figured mybe by chance this would work from an earlier car.
