ok guys, i'm pleading with you....tell me how to drop the side window far enough to drill out the rivets & replace the seals. i've read all the posts, removed the regulator bolts and the bottom track bolts but i still need to drop it about a half-inch and there just doesn't seem like there's anyplace for the window to drop. Should I remove the vent window asssembly completely? i'm stumped guys!!
You can't remove the vent window without removing the glass. Take the rear track out. Take the 7 bolts out that hold the regulator to the door panel. This will let the window fall down far enough to get to the rivets.You do not have to take the vent window assm. out.

I replaced mine on 77B less
than a month ago. I did,nt have to remove anything, but door panel. Are you sure glass is rolling all the way down?
Maybe other years are different?

There's supposed to be a window glass stop inside the bottom of the door. Most of them have come loose and moved out of the way and the glass rolls down further than it originally did. Maybe your stops are still in place.
Once again, you guys have proved to be gurus! I had the four regulator bolts out, but i did not know about the other three in the middle of the door. That let me jiggle the glass side to side enough to get the rivets out (and the new ones in). And you're right John, mine still has that big felt block at the bottom. I must have got the "extra tall" glass in mine, because it sure didn't go like Jerry's or some of the articles i've read. I feel like i ought tpo be sending you guys money or something.....thanks, again!!
