Well, have the swivels are mounted and but now cannot get the @#$%$@ Tie Rod Ends seperated from the steering arm (that attaches to the swivel). I have new ones and would like to replace them while I have it torn down. All the manual says is to turn the tie rod end and remove it? I have pounded and turned this thing to death.. any and all advice is greatly appriceated(sp?)

Getting closer to home...

The tie rod ends separate from the arm after removing the nut, then using a pickle fork and hammer. To seperate the tie rod from the end, back off the locking nut, soak with penetrating fluid, and as it says, unsrew it.
Maybe heat would help.
Tie rods are unavailable from Moss right now, so use caution.

Pickle forks suck Big wampum. They're slow and agrivating things. With the wheel off, Remove the cotter key and loosen the nut until it almost comes off. Turn the axle to where you can get a straight swing with a 3 lb hammer to hit the steering arm end on; like driving a spike. Hit that SOB HARD! Like you intend to intend to destroy it and the tie rod end will drop down in 2 or 3 licks. You'll put a little ding on the end of the steering arm, but not actually harm anything. Count the turns when you remove the tie rod ends and put the new ones on with the same number of turns. Get the turns right and there's a chance you won't even have to get the toe-in reset. A three pound drillers hammer,(they have a short handle), works fine, but a long handle is OK too. If you dont have one, get it; you'll find a lot of uses for a BFH when you have one handy.
