I seem to be missing a ground wire. The wiring diagram shows a spade terminal ground for the break test switch and the tachometer. I have a new, unmolested wiring harness from British Wiring and I can't find but one ground wire ending in a spade terminal on the dash harness. Is one of these supposed to have a separate ground wire? I don't mind making one but my goal is to use the stock configuration where possible. Should there be another spade terminated ground wire coming out of the dash harness? The dash is installed already so it's tough to see everything back there, but I've been all over that harness. If there's another ground wire it's hiding very well.
thanks!

...it might be grounded by the actual dash which is metal and attached to car.
Walter, my harness from BW had a couple of grounds grouped together on a ring terminal. This terminal goes under one of the thumbscrews that holds one of the tach mount brackets to the back of the dash. The tach also had a spade on the housing so I don't see why you couldn't use it instead.
I'd have to get upside down and take a look to be sure. It has been many years since I did the dash.
Here are the images of the tach and tach wiring I took. There were only 2 connections to the tack: one was two green lines that connected to the spade plug and one the WB that connected to the distributor. Although there is a second spade plug it was not connected in my case. If you have Astley's book he shows that second spade plug with a black wire (ground) Sorry about the quality of the pictures, it really is a rat's nest back there. Hope I can get it better organized than the previous owner.
Thank you!
I'll move the wire to the brake switch and see if the tach works without it. If not, I'll rig something up. I have Astley's book and that's really the diagram that has me confused. I didn't mark my wires as thoroughly as I perhaps should have, but I really don't remember having a ground on the back of the tach. I do remember the 2 wires with the ring terminals.
thanks again!

I have considered a large gauge common ground wire that attaches all the grounds straight to the body. Wonder if anyone else has done this.
