I have a 1964 MG B set up for racing that sat for many years. I have had it to the track three times sorting out various "issues." However, there is one that currently has me stumped. I cannot find where a leak is in the transmission.
After returning from a session the tranny will be down about 5 oz. of oil and it will be spread all over the mid part of the car. Really bad. Big drops coming off of every nut and bolt on the right side.
The biggest puddle is at the transmission support beam. There is some just ahead of it on both sides of the undercarriage. Then along the right side of the car in back of the drive shaft it gets really thick.
There is no apparent leaking in the rear engine seal. I cannot find any "wet" places any where around the trans. itself. It is definitely tranny oil - not engine oil. We have replaced the rear trans seal. All the bolts are tight. The trans shsift tower is tight.
Any wild ideas are appreciated.
I will be at the CSRG event this weekend. #23 green with white top.
