I have sent him 2 emails requesting parts and I just can't get him to respond.... :(

Rick you know why?

As not privy to details, it becomes rather akward to sell parts once consigned to an autioneer...don't know if that's the case but it may possibly. The auctioneer takes pains to advertise and really doesn't like parts being pulled that he is inventorying, listing and trying to manage. In fact it could be in violation of a contract to do so. FWIW...

He mentioned in his last video that he was coming to Tampa in November. I emailed him to ask when and where but no reply..... any of you Florida guys know anything about this? Canuck? Anyone? I imagine he (Twist) is incredibly busy wrapping up Univ. Motors...

John has returned to companies like Moss many of the parts that were new and could be returned.
There was a garage sale for used parts a couple of months back. John had a pretty good turn out for that event.

The items that John has remaining are the furnishing and items that have been collected at University Motors over the years.
If you go to this link, here are some of the items up for auction:

There are a lot of memories pictured here and things I remember seeing back in 1981 when I first visited UML on Eastern Ave. :(

I never heard anything, except therer is a huge automotive flea market and auction in Zephyrhills on November 12 to 15. There were several British cars including B's Triumphs and Jags for sale at the auction, and also several vendors that had complets cars as found on trailers to anyone who wanted to buy them. I saw a couple of B GT's that seemed complete and cheapo.

Do you think this "park bench" could tell a few tales if it could speak?

Glad to hear that he's keeping the you-tube going. He's provided great information over the years.

The University Motors auction will be held at University Motors on November 21st, Saturday, beginning at 10:00am. I have asked those who have enquired that they use the Hilton Hotel (about five miles distant from the business and the site of our numerous summer parties). Find Janet at the end of their reservations line 616 957 0100. I do expect we'll have a little party that Friday evening.

Right now I am logging on hundreds of individual items -- the shop equipment, tools, books, and MG memorabilia. You need not be present to bid -- you can do that on line.

At this same time, my wife, Caroline, is in the ICU at our local hospital with numerous blood clots -- a very disagreeable result of the progress of her stage IV lung cancer.

Save for the past four days which found me at the hospital at least twelve hours each day, I am usually at the end of the phone at University Motors 616 682 0800 should you have some specific question regarding the auction or a technical query.

These are very busy, very stressful times, indeed. In fact I cannot answer all my emails; I do the best I can.

Beginning next spring I will be on the road again, offering technical seminars. It is my intention to keep the website up and the phone number the same.

I thank everyone for their patience.

John Twist.

John,
You have our best wishes during this trying period. You have been this hobby's friend for so long, it is only right that we return that friendship back to you in the small acts of kindness and patience that mirror your own through so many years.

John, Judy and I sat with Dave Scotton and his wife yesterday and we talked quite a bit about how to get you to New England for one of your seminars next year. We should be able to maybe put together two dates in the area for you. Judy and I really send our thoughts and prayers to you, Caroline, and your children at this time.

Thanks to all who have sent messages about Caroline's health. She may be able to return home tomorrow but will be under "house arrest" for an indeterminate period while the rest of the blood clots dissolve.

To Jack Lindler: I was on Eastern Avenue for 20 years. After about ten years I purhcased a couple of buildings across the street - 617 and 619 Eastern. The 617 building was an old bakery -- some of it yet stands. We wrecked most of the structures to make way for a parking lot. Graffiti had adorned the 617 building, so when it was time to take it down, Brandon DeHaan, now chief of police at Grand Valley State University, told me we had to save this certain piece. Brandon cut it off the building and mounted it -- then titled it "Condemned Building 1983." He suggested that we try to sell it to the City of Grand Rapids as modern art. The inscription reads: Wilma Pearson is a Ho She'll give it up Now I never met Ms Pearson, but when I mentioned her name to old James Kinard who had owned 617 Eastern when he ran a very small party store, he said to me, "You KNOW Wilma Pearson?." I had to admit to him, too, that I had not had the pleasure of her aquaintance. This sign hung both on Eastern and at the Fulton shops. It is TRULY one of the most fascinating pieces of "local color" that we have! I can send it away with a certificate of authenticity!
