Pretty close to correct, except for top entry distributor cap, garish spark plug cables, and I've still got to put a p-clip on the bonnet release cable. (Got the clip, just need to find a nut to fit the bolt!) Modern relays too, but I prefer function over originality to a degree.

Relays are for: Headlights, low and high beam, horns and overdrive switch. (The fourth till I finally hook up my vacuum inhibitor and Lucas relay on the firewall)
Master cylinders refurbished, and I'm now running Silicone brake fluid. (I just could not bear to splash paint stripping brake fluid around after all this work and expense!)
Thomas,
That's a great job. The white engine bay really sets off your work. And I like the red block the earlier cars had. I guess I'm just going to have to buy an earlier chrome bumper and make that my next project.
Steve
Wow --- sure wish mine looked 1/10 as nice as that!! Great job Tom :) :) :)
Absolutely beautiful!! You have reason to be very proud. Very well sorted!!
Very nice. How did you install the footbox on the rong side? :)
Beautifully done electrics. Tidy neat, STRAIGHT, and well secured. Bravo! A terrific job.
Jim B.
Pure inspriation. I like the fact you are using the Lucas overdrive vacuum unit. I am installing an overdive in my 66, and I believe I mentioned that it took me months to find one of those. I finally found one from England.
I can't recall - this was an engine removal engine bay refurbishing?
Besides being beautifully executed, your picture is a great reference to answer the question "What is the little tab on top of the pedal box cover for?" since LH drive cars didn't have the cable there.
Beautiful work! Maybe it's time to start a new thread called "Under Bonnet Porn". There are so many beautiful cars out there, I for one would like to see how folks finish out the "hidden" areas...
Thomas looks great!!!! Hope you don't mind, I hijacked one of your photos to ask another one of my dumb questions. Again, nice job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Exactly, the tab on the pedal box cover is for a clamp to secure the throttle cable.
I get a thrill looking back to see where I came from. Here's a photo of the pedal area I took for reference early on. Heaps of damage from years of spilt brake fluid.

I think I looked for three or four years for one of those vacuum switches. In the end Naomi tipped me off about two new ones for sale(New old stock) after she'd mentioned here that she had one that she didn't use. By the time I'd contacted her, she'd given it away to someone else here.
Yes Robert, after trying first working around the edges, I finally bit the bullet, pulled the engine/trans. I still couldn't get into the box sections in the guards and so finally had the whole area sandblasted prior to painting.
I bet a lot of us are thinking, "Yeah, that's what I'm going to do someday"! Well, that's what I'm thinking. If I ever have the time and the determination, that is.
Very nice job done exactly the way it should be done. Looks just right, not at all "garish".
Hey, you can do it! I'm a rookie in this area, but while my engine was pulled last spring I spent a month plus cleaning, scraping & sanding. The paint was brushed on, the components got sprayed, the heater box rebuilt, the harness re-taped and in 5 weeks it looked 90% better. I was by no means as thorough as Tom, but it was a significant improvement. No need to keep the hood closed at shows now.
Steve
Very sweet, I hope mine looks 1/2 that good. (someday) :) Mike
Beautiful work and so good to see one with the steering on the 'correct' side!
Paul ;-)

Well that's a first --- me actually being of help to one of you guys --- it's always been the other way around :) :)
Looks good, but your master cylinders are on the wrong side! ;)
No, they're on the "right" side. Anything else is just improper! ;)
Fantastic Tom,,...looks really great after all that hardwork...where did you get your new wiring loom from
that will be my next job!!
Yes, looks like a good winter project. Need to take a lot of photographs for reference, and slowly work away at it. A good time also to change whatever pipes, etc. need renewing.
