no voting allowed on this poll.

i just wonder how many people have BOTH a working brake warning light and a working rheostat for dash lights on their dash. neither of mine work.

I have both operational at this time. :bouncing:

None of my cars have a brake warning light. Can I still vote? ;)

(All my rheostats work just fine)

Brake warning light - out. It actually did light once when pushed, but never again.
No rheostat, just the column switch

Dec 08, 2009 11:18:50

i suppose so steve but i need to know that if your model t had a warning light, would it work.

50% can't be all bad on a 74.5

They both work in my nissan....

No brake warning light for the MC. Brake warning light on the hand brake OK!!!
Rheo is just there for show, and I have such nice bright instrument lights now. In fact, I will rig the knob to switch on my high beam driving lights.

All work, including the seat belt warning light

Dec 08, 2009 11:31:37

The rheostat works, but who wants to go from dim to dimmer?

The other beast isn't present (thank God!).

Dec 08, 2009 11:37:24

The rheostat kind of works, but the brake warning light doesn't.

Handbrake light, brake warning light, seatbelt light and buzzer all work. Rheostat does not. Stuck on dim.

Dec 08, 2009 12:00:10

both mine work

If the Model T had a brake warning light, it would be on all the time to warn you that Model Ts don't come with wheel brakes! ;)

Brake warning light does not work, no switch on the pressure unit. Rheostat replaced works at all levels.

Dec 08, 2009 12:23:24

Brake warning doesn't work but I replaced the dash light switch with a rheostat from a Saab 900 and mounted it down by the stereo.

I'm about to. The "authorities" will not pass my vehicle inspection unless I have both working. I think I'll disconnect one just to spite them when it eventually passes.

Both of mine work. But not my fasten seat belt or dome light.

Never noticed,,so i must not care !
Best add circut yet was on a toyota Avalon i had that illuminated a small lighting bolt
symbol on annunciator panel to alert you had an inop tail /brake light( SMART )

Brake warning light does not, the rheostat has been bridged, but worked prior to change.

Dec 08, 2009 12:52:24

Both work - but not the seat belt light. I did however hook in a timer so the seat belt light comes on for 20 seconds after I start the car then goes out - just as a reminder.

Both work on mine but the red lense in the brake warning light is gone, and the dome light doesn't work, although I did get the door switches cleaned up and now the light over the radio works when the doors open for hte first time in 10+ years.

I pulled the rheostat some time ago. The brake warning light worked a year ago. It doesn't now. So that's what? One-third?

i can't believe so many people have responded to my stupid question. i'm so flattered. you boys are striking me pink with all the attention and this girl does not blush easily.

Hey, you said it was unimportant and useless. Of course we'd respond!

Does it count if they both worked prior to tearing the car down for an Advance Autowire install?

Dec 08, 2009 15:02:28

Dec 08, 2009 15:13:29

Both working, but bypassed the rheostat a few years ago.

Dec 08, 2009 15:21:25

They do work on my 80B but not the other B's :)

Dec 08, 2009 15:26:41

Both mine work....

Dec 08, 2009 16:05:40

My dash brake light works but lights only when the O.D is on.

Dec 09, 2009 12:57:52

Mine works fine; but only part of the time: when they are supossed to be off.

Dec 09, 2009 14:00:11

so after carefully tabulating, charting, and graphing the results the final results are as follows:

1. some of em work and some of em don't.

2. a model t really needs a working brake warning light.

poll closed! any further comments would only skew the results.
