Got her starting with first turn of the key actually. Turns out I had a nasty vacuum leak that was due to a loose hose, but once I fixed that and install the new fuel pump she runs like a champ. And sounds like a Spitfire fighter plane, turns out that she rusted out her exhaust joint right after where the header and the start of the exhaust starts.
Turns out the fuel tank seems to be OK as well, once I got rid of the old gas the tank is flowing clear gas now all the way through her systems.
Oil still looks clean, coolant still looks clean. Not a bad amount of progress for the afternoon - I'm quite pleased I have to say.
Well, I've got a running MGC now

Attaboy!
Now I say you either get the brakes fixed and take it for a spin, or cut out the floors and go for Flintstone brakes. Either way, get 'er rollin'!!!!

I think the floors are likely the next thing, I have everything out so now would be the time.

Totally agree Master Chief. The replacement panel should be here in a week or two. I have a smaller than excepted patch on the passenger side to get done in the next week or so, and then once the replacement panel arrives I can see how I want to approach the drivers side.
Trunk has already been handled for now, I really went after it with an aggressive wire brush and none perforation's of the metal and all the attachment points are strong. Eventually I'll take the whole car back to bare metal and POR15 the trunk and floors, but will wait until I can do it in one shot once the driver side floor is done.
