Another Steve, checking in!

The thread you're thinking of was deleted just after a really, really, really nasty post was made. I won't say who it was or what it said but I guess the admin took notice because it only lasted a minute or two. Probably for the better, there was a lot of hate in that thread. It was kind of sad seeing good people express such anger, especially within our hobby.

I'm sorry to hear that. Enough hard feelings in the world already

Glad I was too busy painting the bathroom then.. watching my Vikings kick butt, then... watching my Calgary Stampeders do likewise to Edmonton in the playoffs...

Must have been one worth missing...

If I had the power to delete threads then I'd delete any reference to 1977 rubber bumper convertible MGBs.

(waits eagerly for Lloyd's response, in hopes his heart rate just went up)

I only read the first ten or so posts and saw where that one was heading in a hurry.

I'm glad you only specified 77's and not the 79's that I have! I feel safe now. :)

Scott, do me a favor? Take a look at the California Lottery schedule and tell me where it's heading! I swear I'll split the winnings with you. :)

I might even narrow it to white ones owned by people named Lloyd.

Ahh don't worry about Steve.............he's been breathin' the fumes from all that gas rejection from those DCOEs on the GTS. As a matter a fact, I could drive my rubber bumper B all the way to SoCal and back on just the gas that blows back from the carbs (I'm sure, what say you, Steve?)

Where's Danthefitman when we need him!

Funny, I had that exact discussion on another thread with a couple other gentlemen. It was something about the unburned fuel from my car along with the draft from a very unaerodymanic second car, powering the rubber bumper MGB behind us. The thread was really about the RB being better than our two cars - the gas guzzler and the unaerodynamic one. The RB owner keeps threatening to cut the roof off my GTS to make it a 'proper' sports car. He actually brought a sawzall to an event I was leading, to keep me on my toes.:eyepop:

He's either at the gym or out washing his RB MGB

At least my names not Loyd. I thought I was getting picked on for a minute there.
I can't help my wife inhereted a 77' rubber bumper.

Lloyd, you probably aren't far from the truth!

Morris, nothing of the sort. It's just a joke carried over form another thread. :)

Sorry your thread took such a downturn Chris. It wasn't really a surprise, but still...

jeez. i always miss the excitement. 'course, sometimes i'm probably better off. bunch o folks (on this board and everywhere else in the world) are WOUND TIGHT. and i feel free to say it because i have no idea what happened or who said what.

Anyone who followed the mentioned thread could tell it was going south from the get start. What surprised me was how fast it went that way. Was very sorry to see it.

Once again, out in the blue.

Glad I didn't see the thread and its deterioration.

Me either. My GF's daughter was here for the weekend and comandeered my puter.

Be Coming

Sorry I missed the thread, but I can state that the fuel mileage in my 1970 supercharged MGB got dramatically better when following Steve. S's MGC GTS car throught the canyons.

I thought it could have been the his aftershave, but Lloyd's comment about Weber DCOE standoff makes more sense.

: )

p.s. Steve, my MGB V8 project is based on a 1977 chassis, hence the aftershave comment. yaa boo sux

Nov 16, 2009 11:06:57
Steve S

I don't wear aftershave, but people think I do because of the petrol fumes from the Webers. :D

I gotta go for beer. Now if I don't play those on the PA lottery and they hit, I would have to kill myself. To spare everyone else all the pain of having to deal with my funeral, I suppose I shall stop at the Exon along the way.B)

Oh, and I didn't promise any splitting the winnings deal.:I3:

How in the heck did a post about a clutch go that bad??? :eyepop: I can understand that happening on the political forum....but a clutch???

Nov 16, 2009 13:59:06
Steve S

Good question. The original post was suggestive, and the person it was suggestive about was understandably upset. Then someone else blew their top at an innocent bystander for reasons unknown to me. Then the thread disappeared. It was a shame, because there was actually a lot of good diagnostic information being discussed.

Nov 16, 2009 14:08:20

i'm just not sure i understand why folks take this stuff so seriously. maybe i've never been "flamed" but i just don't get it. get a life. i have a life. i swear. i keep it around here somewhere.
