Steve, that is a "clutch drive" What in the world do you have that on? It is used with a electric or air powered driver in production lines and in very hard to reach spots. All the ones that I have seen were on self drilling sheetmetal type screws. I have an old Grand Tool catalog that list the bits on 1/4" hex shank in five sizes, from 3/32" to 1/4" I belive that I'd drill the thing out if I could get to it rather trying to find a bit to fit!

Looks like the perfect place for a drill bit and an easy-out!!

Gerry's right, it's a clutch head alright, but in a damned odd place for one. General Motors used them up until the early 60s and then only in a few hard to reach places that you hardly ever had to mess with, except for the cover on the floorboard over the M/C filler cap. Clutch head screwdrivers are nearly impossible to find now-a-days, I wouldn't sell or let mine out of my sight for anything.

I like to let things like this go over like a "Lead Balloon"..
JDWj, where can I pickup a small box of "5/32 / 3.97mm Clutch screws"..

Blake, it goes to the VMC33-3D.

That's a really big question. You don't just go out and pick up clutch head screws. I know you have the length in mm, but what is that in inches and what is the thread pitch? If we even come up with clutch heads they'll probably stick it up to your tonsils and break it off in you for them. I don't know if Fastenall has a web site, but that's the only reasonably priced place you may find them; I doubt they'll have them. Hemmings Motor News has a site and maybe one of their advertisers will have them. They would be from some supplier of restoration parts for old GM vehicles and those guys have big throbbing purple ones and stick them in real deep.

Fastenall doesn't list clutch heads at all. The only thing I found in Hemmings is a big maybe because the guy states hardware for 1929 to 1941 GM products. I've never worked on those years of GM cars/trucks so I don't know if they used Clutch heads.
Here's the place;

Auto Hardware Specialties
3123C McKinley

No web site, no phone number, Just says to send $2.00 for a catalog.

What the hell you working on that has that many clutch hesd screws in exposed positions? I've never seen anything with that many of them, nor in a position like in your photo.
