Someone (losmorob) in another post posed this question and I thought it was interesting.

What was your first post about? I think mine had something to do with a speedometer.

I have learned so much about these little cars since then mostly just by reading other posts and marking as "Favorites" those I thought may come in handy in the future.
Great site, one of the few I try to visit daily.

NO idea. The archives don't go back that far, and my memory goes back even less far.

Yeah, and it was in the last millenium. (Sounds older said that way!).

Chris, you got that right.:drinking: You are double my posts for the same time period. I fell behind when I took off for Vegas and then returned to the swamp in Florida. All I remember is that JD Weimer was talking about an Austin Healey he saw in a barn somewhere and I had to reveal to all that I have a huge soft spot for the big Healeys.

Mine was about the ignition relay in my 77.

I needed an engine for my MGB and .... I found one (Glenn's sold me a rebuilt engine). I also got a 5 speed convertion from him. I will get both at the end of this month. This forum is great! A.J.

I wanted to know about rust and MG, and what to look for. The post lead directly to my buying a car. I had been just reading for some time before that.

Back in 2001 I was looking for a B and I asked what year people thought was the best. I was really interested in a 1969 at the time.

I got a lot of opinions from the likes of Kim, Gary and Tony (miss them all). Lively debate since both Kim and Gary had '66 B's, I fell in love with the sight right away, and although I haven't posted much over the years, this sight has been part of my life ever since.

Mine was a general introduction six years ago. Talked about my two MGBs and mentioned another I used to have. Also talked about the resurrection of my '63 after a very long rest, and what was needed to accomplish this.

I think mine might have been a smart ass remark, sometimes I'm good at that. At least I'm not plastic in my replies. :eyeroll:

No kidding. Some of the earliest stuff was lost during a site upgrade so our first posts are not there.

Very interesting and so I's like to find it. Been several years that's for sure.

Can one search one's own name to find first post?

What happened to the "Search" button at the top of the page?

Search on my name yielded post from '05. I had just pulled car out of storage after five years. Shredded right front tire on a Saturday drive revealed tires with date code from 1971! I still puzzle over this as the odometer showed approx 70,000 miles? I never have had comprehensive ownership information, but pretty certain there had been four or five different owners prior to me.

My initial post was a question about refurbishing front suspension components as I had just purchased 5 new tires.

PS I love these "carcheology" type questions...

My first post, the day after I towed my car home from the DPO, was about the carbs.
Hap and others patiently explained to the newby:
1. That the carbs were, um, missing a few parts.
2. That the previous owner was probably not truthful when he said he was driving it around like that.
3. That if I tried to start it I'd have gas everwhere and probably a fire.

This was my first one and Tom Bedenbaugh had the answer to the problem.
