they looked like jag wheels to me, but I don't recall them being polished/chrome

Don't take this as gospel, but I vaguely remember seeing them or something that looked very similar as an OEM dealer delivery item. I don't think that I ever actually saw any, but it seems like there were drawings and part numbers listed at the dealer level. Jack

Don't think that those are dealer wheels...the car in question sports a pretty hefty V8 (Robert Milner of California). I'll try to verify the origin...but jaguar certainly sounds correct.

Here's the answer......

Hello Rick Yes they are Jaguar wheels, from a '88,'89 XJ. they are called "teardrop wheels" 15x7 ,5 3/8 backspace,5 on 4 3/4 bolt pattern (Chevy, Jag)
With Ted's front-end I'm using a 3/4 in. spacer with no rubbing in front (205/55-15 tires) In back is a whole other story, I'm still getting that dialed in but I started with a MGC wire wheel axle (bolt pattern is the same) and am currently running 1.192in spacers. Also I had to remove the bumpstop bumps and roll the inner fenders in,and it's still VERY close, a panhard is a must. The 7 in wheels make a big difference in total width of the tires.
I bought the wheels from a local Jag wrecker for $700 with new centers . They quoted $800 but didn't have 4 in stock so they knocked off$100. MG rostyle centers snap right in. They came newly polished but I had to clean up the polishing compound, didn't complain with the $100 off. Hope this helps,I think they look great!
Robert
