Yesterday (Sunday) while amusing myself at work (damn holiday banquets) I thought about the abrevaiation we all see in everyday (gets vary boring running dishes thru a dishwasher) and how we think og different things for the same abreviations.
For example here on this BBS RB - rubber bumper, CB - chrome bumper at the hotel I work at RB- Roast Beef and CB - Corned Beef. In my real trade (eletronics) RB - is Base resistor and CB either stands for Common Base or Citizens Band. Made it wonder how many other common meanings do we know for the same two letters? As I implied I was bored s**tless.

Simon, can you imagine what it would be like if we went back into the 50's or 60's and starting talking about a mouse, harddrive, mother board, PC, etc,? They would think we were crazy wanting to play with a mouse!!!
Simon - when it gets really really slow at work, make a run at those acronyms that are used on BBSs
AFAIK IMHO LOL LOTFLOL PITA IIRC POS DPO etc.

It doesnt need to be slow to do that sort of thing. I spend most of my day on autopilot it doesnt take much to fill a tray with dirty dishes, remove the clean ones from the machine and put the dirty ones in.

I have a finished design on paper that I belive will work, now all I have to do is build one and see if it really will work and finally tidy it up so it is a plug and play install. The last bit just maybe the hardest. In the meantime Im trying to design a circuit board for the Auto Test Probe that I hope to have on Tony's BBS soon. Its amazing how much of this I actually get done at work between the dishes.
