This car isn't too far from me but it's definitely not worth the asking price (to me). What does the collective think?

Thanks,

$2000-$3000 sounds good if the owner has everything. Remember a heritage shell, mins the fenders could run about $8000 alone, I'm not not sure if they still even make a GT shell..?

Painted before finishing the floor replacements?

Bob's point + you get a box of unk parts.

I'd offer $500 to move it.

Check to see if he has any photos pre paint to see how much rust is covered.

WIth the limited data supplied, ,my thoughts lean towards the cautious. In other words, recommend looking at this on closely!

x2 on $500. That car is a full resto. Why is there new paint on the car and the floors haven't been done yet. There is probably bondo an inch thick in the sills. If it was me I would go look at the car, but at $3000 asking price, the seller is way off the mark. Add up the pricing on the new in the box parts he as and divide by 2. The shell/engine is not worth much.

I bought my GT, running and driving, rust-free for 3k.

Make a low offer & see what happens.

Just last week, I commented here on the $3500 MG market here in Texas. I linked two cars, a rdstr & GT both in that range. Both were running driving cars. How can a project be worth the same as a non-rusty driver??
I mean, I'm just sayin'

Have fun

Ditto all of above. The car is in the Rust Belt.....

Thanks. A lot of these posts confirm my thoughts. I was thinking of offering $750 IF what's under the paint is solid. If work doesn't get in the way I might take a drive downstate to look at it.

Should the front valence have two openings? I believe a 1968 would have had a solid valence.

That quote alone ought to tell you something....

$3K? for a body? I can't get $3K for my running '71 GT.
