what about the width, is 6" would not interfere with the A frame or the front or rear shocks components. Would it stick out beyond the fender I don't want to buy them then they will not fit properly
Thanks
When using "other" wheels you should always try them on the car first. Without bolting them on and trying them the only answer I would feel comfortable giving is "they "should" fit"
We had a customer bring in his Scion Xb for brake work. With new pads and rotors the wheels that had been "fine" now touched the calipers and did not allow the wheel to turn. Our calipers are not the floating type so this particular issue would not apply to an MGA but it does illustrate how elusive an answer could be.
This thread shows my 6" wide wheels with 38 mm offset. They fit fine on my car.

6"is an absolute maximum in my experience and unless the offset is DEAD on, they may rub inside or stick out. I prefer 5.5" myself.
Randy is right - if you can't mount them on the car with a tire on them first, don't buy them.
I bought some rims with 40 mm offset and 7 1/2" wide. I'm just going to get wheel spacers to bring them away from the inner fenders. I like the wide tire look.
