I bought my 1st MGB in 1971. It was a 1967, BRG with white top, 4 speed w/o OD. I sold it when I left for college because I thought I needed a back seat for cargo and recreation (it was a different era then). I bought my current car, Red 1980 MGB with black top, 4 speed w/OD and AC, in 2005.

First MG was a B in 1978.
My current GT I bought approx 1995. I've owned and driven this one longer then any of the other 4 (5?) due to the internet and this forum.

3 years ago...72 Midget was bought out of a mini storage unit where it had been for over twenty years, it is a work in progress and I've driven it about two miles so far. 2 years ago... 78B was a gift from my son. 6 months ago...79B came about when I was a lurker on here and read Starlights profile where it was for sale. I met Starlight at the Midland Odessa, Tx. airport, bought it and drove it back to Alabama.

I got my first TD in 1962 for $350. It was a 1952. I wrecked it in 1965 and replaced it with a 1957 Morgan +4 which I traded in in 1967 for a brand new Shelby GT 350 which cost $4200 (I got $500 in the trade for the Morgan). I sure wish I still had all 3 cars. I sold the Shelby in 1970 for $2400 and the last I heard my car sold in a Las Vegas auction for over $100K several years ago after a full restoration. I replaced the TD in 2007 with a very nice frame off restoration which is the one in the signature. The TD sure brings back a lot of happy college memories.

Like James I bought my first MGB new at the dealership in 74 but mine was citron
Sold it a couple of years later-dumb!
Bought my 73GT in Winnipeg while I was in the army and drove it back to the coast
when I got out. Sold it to concentrate on my MGA Twin-Cam project-dumb!
Bought my Twin-Cam as a basket case in the mid 80's for 3 grand. Sold it for 6 grand as a restored rolling
chassis when I ran out of money and motivation-dumb
Bought my ZB Magnette for $200. and it was my daily driver for two years. Sold it about the came time
as the Twin-Cam for the same reasons-also dumb!
Bought my current ZA Magnette about 3 years ago. Currently resisting the temptation to be dumb and sell it.

Cheers,
Rich

Next came "Penelope" ('67 Sprite) in May 2008, and now fills Rob's carport with joy and his remaining hair with wind!
Next one, "Daphne" ('76B -- current and only) was Nov 2008.

Dang... I just noticed, when ya look at it in print, that's a long time in between LBC roadster-fun!!

After owning an early 70s vintage Fiat 124 Spyder in the early 1980s, and having Glenn Towery convince me that MGs are better, (yes, I've known Glenn that long), I saw the light and bought my first one in the early 80's, it was a '73 roadster with some rust issues, with poorly-sorted wiring and numerous other issues, but Glenn was always accessible and willing to voice his opinion and technical expertise to help me. Now, I'm on my seventh MG, haven't seen Glenn in a couple of years, hope all is well.

Bought a '69 roadster project (read basket-case) back when I was 18 (definately not a few years ago), never finished it but got the bug started.

'74 roadster bought in '96 in Vancouver, sold it 3 years ago (might buy it back. It's not been treated very well)
'77 V8; bodyshell bought in Kelowna; project took about 4 years to finish; will never sell it.
'69 GT; bought in Richmond from a friend in '06; finished in '08; sold in '09.
