So recent threads on history of the MG got me thumbing thru the old books again. Found a book by M.L. Twite called "The World's Racing Cars" published in 1966. Has this pic as representative of the MGB with aerodynamic front end. Was this a factory car or private3 entry? Anybody?

this car, the droop snout, was one of syd envers, think it was designed for le mans race-did 139mph!
..and ive just noticed the one i have a pic of is a different registration number 7 DBL -so there might have been a few-ill scan the pic and put it up later
I have seen this before. I think I saw it on Ralph Zbarsky's (sp?) profile page where there is a list of races and the cars that ran in them. Pretty sure it was Ralph's page but can't seem to get there right now.
Anyway, he probably knows the answer to your question.

Cool picture, wonder if it can be made into a large wall size?
Memory not so good. Is located on the "Motorsport" page in the table of contents. Shows pic of it and who raced, etc

These are from the Motorsport section, but not much info there about the cars:

heres a pic from a magazine i have-says very little about it-
MGBs were raced by the factory at LeMans in 1963,64,65. There was only one aerodynamic front end. It was transferred from car to car over the 3 year period. 7DBL ran LeMans in '63....BMO541B in '64 and DRX255C in 1965. You can tell what years' race it was by the reg number on the car.
crappy image-but do you think this is an original nose then? original car even?
No....it is not. There was only one and it was written off in 1965. Bad photo so I can't comment on how accurate it is. They do have the race number 37 on it....1964 LeMans number....couldn't be that car, so all is bogus.
