"DESPERATE" I think not. Someone needs to point out her husbands voting record when it comes to vets a troops.

I agree desparate. Rick's big toe looks more like the Borg Queen than does Cindy McCain.

Dave, maybe you don't care but can I ask you if there is anything you know of in the past about McCain and the military that would show him to be negative to the military.

Wouldn't it be more plausable that he had a reason and that the bill was really bad for the military when you strip away the flash and sound bite. There are two other great examples of the same sound bite mentality. Did you research why he voted no or just buy the sound bite.

McCain voted against Martin Luther Holiday therefore he is racist.
He voted no only because the Government could not afford to give another paid holiday to the employees of the Goverenment. So is he racist or fiscal conservative. He did not care if it was an unpaid national holiday, there are several.

His vote against the Iraq funding that Obama talks about.
The Democrats put a time line in the bill to force Bush to veto it and to try to force foreign policy through legislation. McCain voted no on the whole bill because of time lines and new that Bush had already said he would veto it. So did he vote to not fund the troops or did vote to protect the Iraq war from defeat.

Ryan, is she talking about the Obama campaign strategy of not releasing any informaiton and not being honest with the American People.

Why do people pay any attention to the wives anyway. RSS with his disgusting comments on people is shameful and piggish but I guess it his right but I am surpised people go along. I have not heard anything negative about Michelle Obama and she has as much controversy than Cindy McCain but she is off limits.

If I called her an overweight angry black woman who hates white people with some stupid picture this site would go nuts and rightfully so but it is OK to throw the cheap pictures and shots at Cindy McCain.

McCain completely missed 6 of 9 votes on veterans' issues. He was not a co-sponsor of the post-9/11 GI Bill.

If he cared about more than his own
service, he would be working for the troops.

You believe wrong. Very, very wrong.

And Cindy McCain has earned hers by helping to whip up the lynch mob mentality at these rallies.

Did you know that McCain was sponsoring a different new GI Bill that he co-authored, so tell me, why would he vote for this one? Both of the new GI Bill's had their benefits and downfalls, just the Webb GI bill got more votes.

Why would it matter whether he voted on this one or not, he was sponsoring his own version, geesh. Had he voted Nay on this one, you'd bitch like a little baby that he wasn't supporting the troops/vets, he didn't vote, so you bitch because of that. For you McCain is in a lose-lose situation, the man could cure cancer, hunger and establish world peace, yet your whiney ass would say his hair is out of place:eyeroll:

Sort of my point, and thank you for making it.

You could have saved yourself the trouble, though: The McCain campaign is now broadening their attack on Obama's past "association" with William Ayers to include Michelle Obama -- even though McCain has repeatedly said spouses should be off limits during the campaign.

The attack? Bernardine Dohrn, Ayers' wife and fellow former Weatherman, went to work in 1984 for the major Chicago-based national law firm of Sidley & Austin, and three years later, Michelle joined the mega-firm as well. The firm's Chicago office currently employs more than 500 lawyers.

That's the entire attack.

Snakes look down on McCain.

6863m,

If you vote against a bill because of time lines, you cannot accuse the other candidate of not supporting the troops when he votes against a similar bill that includces time lines. Look in the miror. By the way, McCain appologized for voting against the Martin Luther King Holiday.

McCain can vote against any vet bill he wants but he made a statement the his reason was the bill would encourage soldiers to leave the service to take advantage of the benefits. Nice logic MR. McCain. Your not a Maverick, your a hoarses ass.

Sorry that you don't see where this makes sense concerning the Webb GI Bill. Do four years post 9/11 service and you have your entire college paid for(up to highest state funded school), plus monthly living expense and an allotment for books. Being a former recruiter, 90% of the people that join are looking for education benefits, a way to pay for college. Webb's bill handed them that on a silver platter. How can an MOS that doesn't offer any bonuses compete with that?,.....love of the service to your country?, the up and coming generations are having fewer and fewer of those types, I see it daily. So, I think in McCain's reasoning, he was correct, Webb's bill will probably lead to more getting out after their four years and using the Bill for their education, so the military will have a tougher time keeping careerist around, thus losing out in the long run.

In all honesty, either bill would have worked for me because I elected not to take the Montgomery GI Bill when I enlisted, so I was missing out. With either McCain's or Webbs proposed bills, it would have given me the second chance to go to school, if I desired to do so.

Oct 11, 2008 07:24:23
dte948

Richard,

Your point is well taken. My point is only this, if both bills benefit the troops, you vote for one and the other candidate votes for the other, you cannot claim he does not support the troops. McCain can stand his ground on time tables which is fine with me but don't tell a half truth which in my mind is a half lie.

Dave

Oct 11, 2008 08:34:30
6863m

Dave, I don't think McCain ever accused Obama of not supporting the troops realative to vetrans care and benefits. He has only done so on the issue of support for the combat roles.

Be honest about what they are doing. A Democrat has to worry about how we see them. Are they weak on National Defense and are they anti military. Democrats will not support the war fighting part of the effort when they can vote for the soft side and then say they support the troops. They try for both sides of the issue.

After Obama is elected he will begin to significantly cut back on Defense Department spending at the same time he will continue to talk about the soft support. In his mind it is easy to justify giving it is just very hard for him to use good spendable money on the hardware in the Defense Department. The unfortunate part is he will be laying off hundreds of thousands of high paying jobs in the private sector. You will see this in his first budget. He will follow the blueprint Jimmy Carter used.

Richard explained the reason McCain voted against the benefits bill well and he was clear why.

McCain was in a catch 22 on Martin Luther King and could not give any reason that would help him on the issue. Over 30% of the work force got a day off with pay what could he do now.

Dave,

In moments of pique, I have called Richard names. It’s not something I’m proud of, but I own up to it.

But now, I know how to wound him… to strike at his soft underbelly… I’ll tell him he’s thinking like a Democrat! He’ll go apoplectic. He may need medication to get his heart rate stable!

NAAAA, I’m not that mean! But I might say he’s thinking like a Libertarian.
