After seeing the post by Bill Shields son regarding the wealth of parts he has collected over the years I wonder how many of us here on the MGE are slowing creating their own stockpiles of parts. Lets see those "warehouses" :eyepop:

Maybe we should have yearly MGE awards... one could be biggest collection of parts.

Me, I gather all the parts can, I have two complete engines and transmissions, a box of carbs, a box of distributors, several complete exhausts, spare doors, spare windshield, brake boxes and boxes full of nuts, bolts clips, etc. It started when I bought the 65, the guy I bought it off had a 67 parts car, he had stripped it right down to the last bolt and clip - I got all those parts as part of the sale.

Now I cruise swapmeets and watch the trader forum looking for rare bargains. I'll also gather parts for LBCs I don't have, I found some Vandervell engine bearings for a Midget at a swap meet recently and grabbed them, I also have most of a Spitfire in boxes in the basement.

Ahem! I'm pretty sure Mr. Shields has a daughter although I wouldn't mind if he adopted me!

I got spares for my spares. The pic is just the tip of my iceberg.

Yep, a bunch of parts. People have actually come 'shopping' in my garage and shed.
I've got a bunch of Midget parts. Don't OWN a Midget. But darn it, I have the parts.

My "parts stockpile" is called my MGB!

... but I do have most parts that have come off her over the years... my favourite "mid-fold" top has been sitting there for five years ready to go back on when I stop competing in the neast - but when will that be? I just sold the original seats and steering wheel - oh no!

I've been dragging this stash around since 1998. Not in picture are two flywheels and a spare engine.

For the record I may use this posting as a negotiating tool. "honey...its not junk...all the other members of the MGE ensure they have a wide selection of parts for cars they have....or MAY have" haha!

Stockpiling? You on purpose or accidentally?? Somehow I have filled a small barn and a good section of yard. I was not even trying, it just happened.
