Current bid is $38,600!! It's an interesting and unique bit of automotive history but for that much money you could buy a bunch of MGBs.

I don't understand the draw to this. I'm sure you could make your own for MUCH less. Did someone famous own the chair or did something of historical significance happen in or around it?

Incredible. That kind of money could make monumental differences in people's lives, but someone is buying that POS with it instead of building one for themselves for under $1,000

Well I just checked the bid history and the "who" of who is selling it. My first impression probably was NOT correct. I don't know the story behind it but there has to be some heavy hitters bidding on this...as in heavy into automobilia or vehicles in general. The price is just too high for anything but a one of a kind with some history I suspect....

He's sort-of famous. For doing smomething stupid!! Just Google Dennis Leroy Anderson. (not the monster truck Grave Digger's driver) Plenty of hits. So yea, the chair is famous.

A couple of students at a local high school have built a motorized shopping cart with steering, a gearbox and everything.
It made Popular Mechanics Magazine . I'm sure they would sell it for less than 40 grand if anyone is interested.

It's over $40,000 now!

Did you see this question:

Would you know if this chair could beat a Segway in the 1/4 mile ? My best friend is a Mall Cop and says that his Segway can spank this Chair in the 1/4 ... I intend to bid to win, but i also would like feel confident ....

Funny!
